I've heard of people doing this with the spray-on touch up paint. With proper preparation it turns out nice.
But is it worth doing that or is it better to get a shop to do it with real auto paint?

My only problem would be how do I get it to match the rest of the car, cuz I don't want it to be way to bright you know...

yeah I was thinking about the same thing. I mean, the black bumper on my STD looks alright... it s kinda different... but I think I'd rather have it the same color as the rest of the car.

Yeah I'm planning on doing the same thing, but dont' use spray paint, go get you a spray gun. You can pick one up now for like $40. Most any body shop will color match the paint for you. But I definitely say don't use spray paint, it won't work. Are yall going to paint your doorhandles? I think I'm going to leave mine alone cause they'd just get scratched anyway.

No I heard people say you can use Spray Paint (not like Krylon, but actually color matched stuff). They said as long as you prep it real well it will work. So it is worth a try I suppose.
But if you get an Air Gun you still need an Air Compressor and all that stuff is going to cost a lot of money!

Are you planning on painting the whole bumper red, or just leave the top part of it black like in the other models?

I have a 91 hatch blue in color.I went to walmart and found a blue that was almost dead on color wise.I painted the front and back bumpers.I gave each bumper 2 coats. That was over a year ago. There is no sign of wear on either one.I didnt even use clear coat.Took longer to tape off areas above the bumpers.Total cost of the professional job.Under $4(PRICELESS!!!!)

I would say give it a shot, what the worst that could happen? Just be sure to take your time,do ALOT of prep work and it should come out pretty good.Just dont hurry anything.
